Job Description

Manufacturing Process Engineer
Sheffield | Permanent | Manufacturing

Elevation Recruitment Group are supporting an established manufacturing business in Sheffield with the appointment of an experienced Manufacturing Process Engineer.

This is a hands-on technical role focused on improving manufacturing performance, solving process issues and ensuring production methods consistently deliver the required standards.

The role

You'll work across a range of manufacturing operations, taking ownership of process performance and driving improvements around quality, efficiency, cost and reliability.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Improve and develop manufacturing processes and production methods
  • Investigate process issues, defects and non-conformances, identifying effective corrective actions
  • Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement activity
  • Develop practical improvements to reduce waste, improve output and strengthen process reliability
  • Ensure production teams have clear, effective methods and technical guidance to work safely and consistently
  • Work closely with Production, Quality, Engineering and Supply Chain to resolve technical issues
  • Support the introduction of new products, processes and equipment
  • Assess and improve manufacturing controls, equipment settings and operating standards
  • Provide technical input into customer requirements, product issues and improvement projects
  • Work with external suppliers and subcontractors where manufacturing performance needs to be improved
  • Produce technical documentation and reports where required
  • Support both smaller improvement projects and larger manufacturing investments

We're looking for an experienced manufacturing professional with strong machining knowledge and a practical approach to solving production problems.

You'll ideally have:

  • 5+ years' experience in a relevant manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of machining processes, including CNC
  • Level 3 qualification in Engineering or Manufacturing
  • Experience of implementing and embedding process improvements and controlled change
  • A good understanding of Lean manufacturing principles
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working across production, quality and engineering functions

A Degree or equivalent in Materials Science, Metallurgy or a related discipline would be advantageous.
