Staff/Principal Software Engineer

Role Summary

We''re looking for a hands-on Staff/Principal Software Engineer to design and build a next-generation AI-enabled platform from the ground up. This is an individual contributor role with strong architectural ownership, working across Java backend services, Edge Computing, AWS, and AI/ML platforms. You''ll collaborate closely with Data Science to build scalable systems for machine learning inference and trust-signal processing.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable backend services using Java Spring Boot and microservices.
• Develop end-to-end data pipelines for signal ingestion, processing, storage, and routing.
• Build edge-layer solutions using CDN/Edge Computing technologies (Cloudflare Workers, Lambda@Edge, Akamai, etc.).
• Develop APIs and integration frameworks for third-party identity and trust providers.
• Build data pipelines and platform features supporting ML inference and model integration.
• Make architectural decisions around AWS infrastructure, storage, observability, and scalability.
• Partner closely with Product and Data Science teams in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of software engineering experience building distributed systems.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Microservices, and AWS.
• Experience designing systems from 0 to 1 (Greenfield development).
• Experience building or supporting AI/ML platforms, feature pipelines, model serving, or Databricks.
• Hands-on experience with Edge Computing/CDN technologies (Cloudflare Workers, Lambda@Edge, Akamai, Fastly, etc.).
• Strong system design and architecture skills.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude, etc.).
