Student Financial Aid Officer
Full-Time | Onsite
Schedule: 9:00 AM–6:00 PM three days per week and 10:00 AM–7:00 PM two days per week
A growing career-focused school is seeking an experienced
Student Financial Aid Officer to support students through the financial aid process while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations.
This role is ideal for someone with prior financial aid experience in a higher education environment who is detail-oriented, student-focused, and comfortable working with Title IV funds, financial aid eligibility, documentation, disbursements, and compliance requirements. Advise students and families on financial aid options, application steps, eligibility requirements, and required documentation. Conduct financial aid overviews and student interviews to support the enrollment and student finance process.
Evaluate student need and verify eligibility for federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs. Prepare, process, and manage financial aid awards for eligible students. Monitor student academic progress to determine continued aid eligibility. Manage and evaluate financial aid disbursements in compliance with applicable regulations. Work closely with registrar, bursar, and accounting teams to ensure proper cash management and Title IV compliance. Maintain accurate records and reporting for audit and compliance purposes.
Stay current on federal and state financial aid policies, regulations, and best practices. Support enrollment growth and a high-quality student service experience. Complete additional projects or tasks assigned by the Senior Director of Student Finance.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required.
~2+ years of experience as a Financial Aid Officer in a higher education environment required.
~ Strong knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations, Title IV funds, scholarships, and grants.
~ Ability to interpret and apply complex regulations, policies, and procedures.
~ Experience with financial aid systems and database management; Strong communication, customer service, organization, and analytical skills.
~ Spanish language skills are a plus.
