On behalf of Rolls-Royce who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs we are looking for a number ofStress Engineers across both Derby and Bristol.
Due to a significant increase in demand across our business, we're expanding our team with multiple opportunities available. These roles have been created to support a number of exciting change and transformation initiatives, while also aligning our resources to meet current and future business needs
- Perform structural and mechanical integrity assessments of aerospace engine components and assemblies.
- Conduct static strength, fatigue, creep, vibration and lifing analyses.
- Generate and validate Finite Element Analysis (FEA) models to support design decisions.
- Assess component designs against internal standards, certification requirements and industry regulations.
- Support design reviews and provide recommendations to optimise component performance and durability.
- Investigate structural failures, non-conformances and in-service issues, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
- Produce engineering reports, technical justifications and certification evidence.
- Work closely with Design, Materials, Manufacturing and Chief Engineering teams.
- Support product lifecycle activities, including development, certification and fleet support.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices.
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience performing stress analysis within aerospace, defence, power generation or other highly regulated industries.
- Strong understanding of structural mechanics and engineering principles.
- Experience using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software.
- Knowledge of fatigue, durability and lifing methodologies.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and design requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities
