Senior Java Application Administrator / SRE / Hybrid in Dallas

A large enterprise organization in the energy industry is seeking a Senior Java Applications Administrator / SRE to join their team in Dallas. This position is responsible for maintaining and optimizing critical Java-based application environments while supporting cloud platforms, middleware technologies, automation initiatives, and enterprise security requirements. The environment includes Java application servers, IBM middleware, Azure cloud technologies, scheduling platforms, and AI-enabled integrations.

The team is looking for a senior-level engineer who can drive reliability, improve operational efficiency, implement automation, and help modernize enterprise application environments. Required Skills & Experience

• 8-12+ years of IT experience supporting enterprise application environments.
• Experience administering Java-based applications in production environments.
• Strong experience with JBoss and Apache Tomcat.
• Hands-on experience administering IBM MQ and IBM Integration BBroker.
• Microsoft Azure administration experience.
• Microsoft Power Platform administration experience.
• Experience with UC4/Automic or similar enterprise scheduling tools.
• PowerShell, Python, and Unix/Linux scripting experience.
• Experience supporting Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions.
• Strong SQL skills with SQL Server and Oracle.
• Experience with application monitoring and observability tools.
• Experience developing or integrating AI-enabled applications.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with technical and business stakeholders.

Desired Skills & Experience

• Experience working in Site Reliability Engineering environments.
• Cloud architecture and platform optimization experience.
• Experience implementing SOX-compliant controls and processes.
• Background in automation and process improvement initiatives.
