Job Description

We are seeking a UX / Consumer Insights Researcher IV to support product and user experience research efforts through wellscoped, timebound project work. In this role, you will design and execute research that informs product decisions and deepens understanding of user needs. This is a contingent position with strong potential for extension. Remote work options are available, with preference for candidates based in the Bay Area to allow for occasional retail field research.

Responsibilities

  • Research planning: Design and execute studies using qualitative and quantitative methods (interviews, surveys, diary studies, product evaluations).

  • Stakeholder collaboration: Partner with crossfunctional teams to define goals, scope, timelines, and deliverables.

  • Study materials: Develop research plans, screeners, discussion guides, and supporting materials.

  • Data synthesis: Collect data, analyze findings, and translate insights into actionable recommendations.

  • Communication: Deliver results via tailored reports and presentations.

  • Iterative learning: Advise on next steps and followup opportunities.

  • Documentation: Maintain research records and contribute to repositories.

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience conducting UX research and selecting appropriate methods.

  • Strong background in user interviews and usability testing.

  • Ability to synthesize findings into clear insights for product/design partners.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects in fastpaced environments.

  • Familiarity with AI research tools.

  • Vendor management experience required.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with consumer electronics, hardware, wearables, or packaged goods.

  • Shopper insight or retail research background.

  • Familiarity with advanced methodologies (tracking studies, TURF analysis, conjoint analysis).

  • Prior experience in largescale product research environments.

  • Vendor management experience required.

  • Degree in social sciences preferred but not required.
