SQL Server DBA

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for an SQL Server DBA for a contract assignment with one of our premier Utility Services clients in Lutz, FL, or Brandon, FL .
Responsibilities :

• Participate as a Database Administrator as part of a team of five DBA's and several contract DBA's supporting the enterprise wide database landscape . Act as primary DBA for a new GIS (graphical information systems) project being run by the business.
• Be involved in database projects and operational support.
• Serve as the primary DBA on new database deployments as part of a modernization effort. Participate as part of a team in implementing vendor software, ensuring database performance and scalability. Implement vendor product for GIS (graphical information system).
• Assist project teams in choosing appropriate Database Architectures that fit the business requirements while aligning with IT Standards and Procedures.
• Responsible for creating reference architectures for the IT and business teams to review and approve. In addition, a need to document changes to the environment and communicate effectively with the database team is vitally important.
• Candidate will be interacting with in house developers and end users as well as other contract resources.
• Responsible for building new or modifying existing database systems by producing the prescribed deliverables
• Work with Technical business teams and integrators as part of the ADI portfolio initiative
• Mentor DBA team members
• May be asked to work on-call hours

Required Skills :

• Experience required: average 10 years
• Knowledge and Concepts:

  • Cloud (Azure, AWS) Plus)
  • Powershell (Plus)
  • High Availability
  • Disaster Recovery
  • Replication
  • General Database Architectures
• Strong communication skills. Ability to document and follow technical documentation.
• Strong documentation, communication and critical thinking skills are required.
