Senior Manager Data Science- AI for BI

Summary: The Senior Manager of Data Science provides strategic leadership for enterprise data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and advanced analytics initiatives. This role is responsible for building and leading a high-performing team of data scientists,  and AI for BI engineers while driving the development of predictive, prescriptive, and generative AI solutions that enable data-driven decision making across the organization.

The Senior Manager is responsible for the overall execution of the organization's Data Science, AI for Business Intelligence (AI for BI) and Conversational Analytics capabilities, establishing the vision, roadmap, governance, and adoption strategy for AI-powered analytics experiences. By combining technical expertise, business acumen, and innovation leadership, the Senior Manager ensures advanced analytics capabilities are scalable, trustworthy, and aligned with enterprise priorities.

• Leads employees through coaching, mentoring, training, performance management, and career development activities.
• Manages the delivery and execution of data science, artificial intelligence, and advanced analytics initiatives that support organizational objectives and business priorities.
• Leads the implementation and ongoing enhancement of AI for BI and conversational analytics capabilities, including natural language querying, AI-assisted reporting, insight discovery, and self-service analytics solutions.
• Oversees the development, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of machine learning, predictive analytics, generative AI, and optimization models to address business needs.
• Establishes and enforces standards for responsible AI, model lifecycle management, model monitoring, and analytics governance.
• Partners with business and technology stakeholders to identify opportunities where advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and automation can improve business outcomes and operational performance.
• Leads innovation efforts through proof-of-concepts, pilot programs, and the evaluation of emerging technologies and analytical methodologies.
• Develops and maintains analytics frameworks, standards, and reusable assets that promote consistency, scalability, and efficiency across projects.
• Oversees analytics platforms, tools, and processes to ensure reliability, performance, data quality, and user adoption.
• Guides teams in conducting advanced statistical analyses and translating complex findings into actionable recommendations for business leaders.
• Collaborates with data engineering, business intelligence, and technology teams to ensure data readiness, model performance, and successful deployment of analytical solutions.
• Manages and develops a team of data scientists, analysts, and related technical professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and technical excellence.
• Influences cross-functional stakeholders on analytics best practices, governance standards, and the effective use of data-driven decision-making.
• Provides subject matter expertise and recommendations to leadership on data science, AI, and analytics initiatives that support departmental and business unit objectives.
• Monitors industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving analytics practices, recommending enhancements to improve organizational capabilities and effectiveness.

• Demonstrated expertise in machine learning, advanced statistical modeling, predictive analytics, optimization techniques, and artificial intelligence.
• Experience developing and operationalizing AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics solutions in enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of generative AI technologies, large language models, conversational AI, retrieval augmented generation (RAG), and AI-enabled analytics platforms.
• Ability to influence executive stakeholders and communicate complex analytical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience establishing AI governance frameworks, responsible AI practices, and model risk management processes.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive organizational adoption of data-driven decision making.
• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field required.
• Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Analytics, or related field preferred.
• 7 years of progressive experience in data science, analytics, machine learning, or artificial intelligence roles required.
• Previous leadership experience managing analytics, AI, or data science teams, including senior-level professionals required.
• Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-scale AI and analytics initiatives from strategy through implementation and adoption.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, and modern machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, LangChain, or similar technologies).
• Experience with cloud-based analytics and AI platforms.
• Strong experience with enterprise business intelligence and analytics platforms (Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
• Experience with AI-enabled analytics, conversational analytics, natural language query technologies, and generative AI solutions.
• Familiarity with MLOps, model deployment pipelines, and AI governance frameworks.

Annual Compensation- $150,000-$180,000 per year

Please note, this position is remote and the pay range presented is a full range in the role specific to 100% national labor mkt avg.  Salary bands across the enterprise may differ due to cost of living adjustments and are specific to an employee’s address and state and can vary for higher labor mkts.
