Job Description

Location: United Kingdom, ideally near Scunthorpe
Type:
Permanent, Full-time
Work mode:
Hybrid - ideally 3-4 office days for onboarding time, occasional business travel to Finland is needed.
Start Date:
ASAP but negotiable

At Hyperion Robotics, we are on a mission to bring sustainability and automation to one of the largest and most conservative sectors: the construction industry. Using robotic 3D-printing technology and low-carbon upcycled materials, we are rethinking how construction elements are designed and built. We collaborate with leading clients across construction, industrial, and infrastructure sectors, backed by some of Europe’s top investors.

As our company is growing, we are now looking for a Customer Project Manager to take ownership of customer projects, from Sales handover through to delivery. You will be the main point of contact for customers, bringing together our structural engineering, production, quality, and supply chain teams across the UK and Finland to deliver against agreed timelines, budgets, and quality expectations.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys connecting people, keeping track of the details, and moving projects forward. Your week will combine customer conversations, cross-functional coordination, written follow-up, and practical problem-solving. Alongside delivering projects, you will help improve the processes and tools we use to manage them.

Your Performance Objectives

Within 90 days: Understand Our Operations & Start Leading Customer Conversations

  • Build a practical understanding of our project delivery process, from purchase order and design approval through to manufacturing and delivery. Spend time on the factory floor in Scunthorpe, UK and Espoo, Finland, and learn from completed projects, existing documentation, and the teams doing the work.

  • Lead customer progress meetings by month three, with support from our existing Project Manager. Provide clear updates, turn discussions into assigned actions, and keep track of the decisions and blockers affecting each project.

  • Identify practical improvements to how we run projects, drawing on your experience and lessons from previous deliveries. Start contributing ideas to make our documentation, workflows, and coordination clearer and more effective.

Within 6–12 months: Own Customer Delivery & Build Reliable Project Oversight

  • Independently lead customer projects by month six, becoming the person customers and colleagues turn to for project progress and next steps. Coordinate a portfolio of approximately four to eight concurrent projects, working closely with teams across the UK and Finland.

  • Deliver against agreed milestones and budgets while maintaining customer confidence. Track costs, manage changes, and address risks early. Build realistic delivery commitments around design approvals, material availability, and production readiness, keeping customers informed when circumstances change.

  • Establish a monthly delivery review, comparing planned and actual performance. Use clear reporting to highlight schedule or budget deviations, agree corrective actions, and capture lessons for future projects.

Long-term: Improve How We Deliver

  • Create a clearer shared view of active projects, improving trackers, dashboards, and reporting so teams and leadership can quickly understand progress, priorities, and blockers.

  • Strengthen Sales-to-delivery handovers and simplify project workflows, making sure important customer requirements reach the right people. Turn lessons learned into practical processes, templates, and tools that support both custom projects and standard product deliveries.

To Succeed In This Role, We Expect:

  • You have experience managing or coordinating multiple customer-facing projects in an engineering, manufacturing, construction, technology, or similar environment.

  • You are confident using Excel, Google Sheets, Jira or similar tools for project tracking, reporting, dashboards, and working with structured project data.

  • You are highly organised and can manage several priorities, meetings, follow-ups, and interruptions without losing sight of what matters most.

  • You have experience taking ownership of project timelines, budgets, risks, or commercial commitments.

  • You are proactive and naturally look for blockers, missing information, and next steps before someone needs to ask.

  • You communicate clearly and concisely in both written and verbal English, and can adapt your communication between technical and non-technical audiences.

  • You are comfortable delivering results through people who do not report directly to you and can build strong working relationships across teams.

  • You are comfortable working in a growing environment where processes are still evolving, and you are willing to build or improve structure when something is missing.

  • You take ownership when things go wrong, communicate openly, and focus on solving the problem rather than hiding it.

It would be a plus if:

  • You hold a recognised project management qualification such as PMP, CAPM, or IPMA.

What we offer:
  • Competitive compensation package

  • Premium medical insurance

  • Workplace pension scheme

  • Holidays - 25 days plus statutory days (33 days total)

  • Well-being coaching platform Siffi

  • The opportunity to take real ownership of customer projects in a growing industrial technology company

  • Close collaboration with commercial, engineering, production, and leadership teams

  • A role where your improvements to project processes and ways of working will have visible impact

  • Exposure to projects across Finland, the UK, and future European markets

  • The chance to work directly with innovative low-carbon construction technology and see projects move from design into real-world manufacturing and delivery
