Job Description

CGI is seeking an experienced Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in Java development, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, and cloud technologies, with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Required Skills

• 5 8 years of hands-on experience in Java development.
• Strong proficiency in Java 8/11/17.
• Experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Data JPA.
• Hands-on experience developing RESTful APIs and Microservices.
• Strong knowledge of Hibernate/JPA.
• Experience with SQL databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases (MongoDB is a plus).
• Experience with Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Hands-on experience with Git, Maven, and Jenkins.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of design patterns, object-oriented programming, and clean coding practices.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with OpenShift.
• Knowledge of SonarQube and code quality tools.
• Experience with JUnit and Mockito.
• Exposure to DevOps practices.
• Financial or Insurance domain experience is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications.
• Build scalable REST APIs and microservices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software.
• Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.
• Troubleshoot production issues and optimize application performance.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Prepare technical documentation and support deployment activities.

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
