Requirements
  • 5 years or more of experience in Enterprise COBOL and NaturalOne development within IBM z/OS mainframe environments.
  • Proficiency in Natural, Adabas, JCL, VSAM, TSO/ISPF, batch processing, and production support.
  • Experience with financial systems involving double-entry posting, accruals, reconciliation, value dating, and month-end processing.
  • Experience with copybooks, call chains, job streams, GDGs, PROCs, SORT, restart/rerun processing, and legacy code analysis.
  • Experience with CA-7, REXX, Python, Java, IBM MQ, z/OS Connect, REST services, account pooling, or cash management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
  • Enhance existing COBOL and Natural applications to support new pooled-account processing within a production z/OS platform.
  • Design account structures, participant relationships, sweep processing, allocations, interest calculations, and balance logic.
  • Modify COBOL programs and JCL while integrating new processing into nightly and month-end batch cycles.
  • Implement audit trails, exception reporting, reconciliation controls, and accounting traceability for new functionality.
  • Build unit and regression tests, perform parallel production comparisons, and investigate processing discrepancies.
  • Support deployment, data conversion, production stabilization, and updates to technical documentation and runbooks.
