PitchBook is seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Editor to lead production of the Daily Pitch, PitchBook's flagship newsletter covering the private markets. We're looking for a seasoned financial journalist who thrives on a daily deadline, has sharp news judgment, and wants to shape how tens of thousands of dealmakers, allocators, and investors start their day.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Own the Daily Pitch end to end: set the lineup, edit every item, write and sharpen headlines and leads, and ensure the newsletter ships on deadline every weekday
• Exercise strong news judgment on deadline, reworking the lineup for late-breaking coverage
• Liaise closely with PitchBook’s Institutional Research Group to translate analyst reports and proprietary datasets into accessible, visually compelling items for a dealmaker audience
• Partner with reporters and editors across the newsroom to identify and elevate high-impact stories for the newsletter
• Own audience growth and engagement metrics for the newsletter, including open and click rates and subscriber growth, and iterate on format and story selection accordingly
• Use AI tools to augment editorial workflows and maintain editorial standards of accuracy, fairness, and journalistic integrity throughout
• Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors 
• Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested 

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree
• 7+ years of financial journalism with 3+ years focused on private equity, venture capital, or M&A
• Exceptional writing and editing skills, with particular strength in headlines and leads and an ability to translate complex information into engaging stories
• Demonstrated experience managing reporters or editors and collaborating with others to plan editorial coverage
• Familiarity with financial data, deal databases, and using data to strengthen reporting
• Experience working with researchers, analysts, or other non-journalist contributors, and the ability to build credibility with a senior analyst team while maintaining editorial standards
• Fluency with newsletter performance metrics and a track record of growing audience and engagement
• Previous experience producing a daily or high-frequency news product in a newsroom or a similar fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work across time zones and functions
• Highly organized and able to manage a consistent daily publishing cadence
• Familiarity with online content management systems, email service providers, and project management software
• Familiarity with Associated Press or in-house style guides
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future

Compensation

• Annual base salary: $130,000-$170,000
• Target annual bonus percentage: 15%

The job conditions for this position are in a standard office setting. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Limited corporate travel may be required to remote offices or other business meetings and events.
