Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced DevSecOps Engineer for a hybrid contract opportunity in Austin, Texas.

 

Responsibilities:

The DevSecOps Engineer will support the administration, implementation, maintenance, and adoption of enterprise software development, security, and delivery platforms. This role serves as a technical subject matter expert responsible for integrating security, automation, and operational best practices into the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

 

The engineer will collaborate with development teams, infrastructure teams, cybersecurity personnel, and business stakeholders to improve software quality, security posture, and delivery efficiency.

 

Responsibilities include administering and maintaining Veracode, SonarQube, GitLab Self-Managed, and Atlassian Jira platforms; onboarding application teams to security scanning and code quality tools; configuring and supporting SAST, DAST, SCA, container security, and code analysis services; designing, building, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines; implementing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and deployment automation; performing platform upgrades, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting; supporting repository migrations and tool integrations; developing standards, training materials, operational procedures, dashboards, and reporting solutions; and promoting DevSecOps best practices to improve software quality, security compliance, operational stability, and delivery maturity across the organization.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience with DevSecOps methodologies and best practices.
  • 3 years of experience in CI/CD pipeline development and automation.
  • 3 years of experience with source code management and repository administration.
  • 3 years of experience with application security testing tools and practices.
  • 3 years of experience in scripting and automation.
  • 2 years of experience administering and supporting AWS and/or Azure cloud environments.
  • 2 years of experience with cloud infrastructure, security, networking, automation, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
  • 2 years of experience supporting container platforms and CI/CD integrations.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years of previous experience administering code suggestion and AI-assisted development platforms.
  • 2 years of previous experience planning and executing migrations involving source code repositories, CI/CD platforms, or DevSecOps toolchains.
  • 2 years of previous experience supporting application modernization initiatives.
  • 2 years of previous experience supporting cloud migration efforts.
  • 2 years of knowledge of DevSecOps tool integrations within cloud-hosted environments.
  • Cloud certifications are highly desired.
