Overview

Susquehanna is seeking a Security Engineer to joinourSydney team, supporting the firm's ambitious growthobjectiveswhile safeguarding ourinformation technology.Byleveragingthe experience and diverse backgrounds of our global security team members, we secure our environment and efficientlymaintainSusquehanna's competitive advantage. In this role, you will:

  • Engineer and implement authentication and privileged access controls, harden endpoints and applications, implement threat prevention controls, and design and manage Susquehanna's cloud security posture.
  • Work on diverse projects including new implementations, upgrades, and custom automation across the entire technology organization.
  • Work with other technical and business teams, allowing you to understand the relationship between the solutions you are building, the technologies they interact with, and the business that isleveragingthem.
  • Share responsibility for triaging and resolving connectivity issues (such as firewalls and proxies),assistwith walk-up enquiries, and partner with teams to build, troubleshoot, and support bespoke solutions.
  • Adapt to evolving priorities and assumeadditionalresponsibilities as needed to support team and organizationalobjectives.

What we're looking for
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical fieldrequired. Equivalent practical experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 5+years of hands-on experience in a security engineering or operational security role, withdemonstratedexpertisein endpoint security and hardening, IAM/PAM, cloud and edge security, andrelated technicalsecurity controls.
  • Good understanding of operating systems internals and hardening
  • Experience with scripting or automation using languages such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar required.
  • Good understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, routing, and switching, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues end-to-end across large, distributed environments.
