Software Engineer

Our large government client requires a SFIA 4-5 Software Engineer who will collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements, participate in the entire development lifecycle, troubleshoot issues and stay updated on industry trends to improve team capabilities.

Your work will ensure that our nation remains one step ahead, equipped with the insights necessary to safeguard our interests at home and abroad.

Due to the nature of clients we work with here at Kinexus and the projects these roles will be based on, an Australian Government TSPV clearance is essential.

These opportunities do not have the ability to obtain sponsorship for a security clearance (including applicants who currently hold a security clearance seeking to upgrade).

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate with the stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives and provide innovative solutions to meet their needs.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including planning, coding, testing, and deployment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to various technologies and software integrations.
• Be aware of industry trends and advancements to contribute fresh ideas and enhance the team's capabilities.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED

• Expertise in designing, developing, testing and optimising production ready software
• Expertise in CI/CD and DevOps practices in managing code release lifecycles
• Knowledge of current practices in API design and Version Control (Git)
• Extensive experience in JavaScript (e.g. Vue.js), Java or Python are desirable
