Overview
A leading engineering and marine construction organization is seeking a Cost Estimator to join its Estimating team. This role is responsible for developing detailed cost estimates, execution plans, and bid strategies for large-scale infrastructure and marine construction projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, experience preparing estimates for projects valued at $25M+, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop accurate and competitive cost estimates for large-scale construction projects.
- Review project drawings, specifications, and contract documents to identify scope, risks, and pricing requirements.
- Prepare execution plans and conceptual project layouts to support bid development.
- Present estimates and project plans during internal bid review meetings with senior leadership.
- Analyze project costs, labor, equipment, subcontractor pricing, and production rates.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, procurement, and project management teams throughout the estimating process.
- Provide estimating support to project teams during project execution.
- Monitor project budgets, production, and actual costs, providing updates and variance analysis as needed.
- Manage multiple estimates simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines.
- Perform additional estimating and project support duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent relevant work experience).
- Experience preparing estimates for construction projects valued at $25 million or more.
- Strong understanding of construction estimating principles, cost analysis, and bid preparation.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present estimates to leadership.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and construction estimating software.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with heavy civil, marine, infrastructure, dredging, or large-scale industrial construction projects.
- Knowledge of project budgeting, production tracking, and cost control during project execution.
- Professional certifications related to estimating or construction management are a plus.
