Systems Engineer 6 Month Contract - Warwick
VIQU have partnered with an engineering organisation seeking a Systems Engineer to support the development and integration of a next-generation electric vehicle platform.
Working across requirements engineering, vehicle electrical architecture and systems integration, the successful Systems Engineer will be responsible for ensuring complex electrical and electronic systems are successfully defined, integrated, commissioned and validated throughout the development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Capture, analyse and manage system requirements, ensuring traceability throughout the V-Model lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain vehicle system architectures, interfaces and functional boundaries across complex electrical and electronic systems.
- Support systems integration activities covering CAN communications, electrical architectures, startup sequencing and subsystem interoperability.
- Produce technical specifications, interface control documentation and other engineering deliverables.
- Participate in commissioning, debugging, fault diagnosis and root cause analysis activities.
- Collaborate with engineering teams, suppliers and stakeholders to resolve integration challenges and deliver robust vehicle solutions.
Key Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience as a Systems Engineer, Systems Integration Engineer or Electrical Integration Engineer.
- Strong background in requirements elicitation, management, verification and validation.
- Experience developing system architectures and managing interfaces within complex engineering environments.
- Good understanding of vehicle electrical systems, CAN Bus communications and network integration.
- Experience working with electrical schematics, wiring architectures and electrical design principles.
- Knowledge of commissioning, diagnostics, fault finding and system-level troubleshooting.
- Understanding of Systems Engineering methodologies, including the V-Model development lifecycle.
- Experience within automotive, EV, motorsport, off-highway, commercial vehicle, rail, marine or similar electro-mechanical industries.
Contract Overview
- Role: Systems Engineer
- Length: 6 month initial contract
- IR35: Inside IR35
- Rate: £400 - £450 per day
- Location: Warwick
