Senior Android Developer Need local to FL

Hybrid | Miami, FL (4 days on site – 1 day remote)

We are seeking a Senior Android Developer to join a growing mobile development team focused exclusively on Android applications. This role is ideal for an experienced Android engineer who combines strong hands-on development expertise with the ability to mentor developers, guide technical discussions, and coordinate work across a global development team.

 

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering high-quality Android applications, coaching fellow developers, and collaborating with offshore teams in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication, critical thinking, and leadership skills are essential for success in this role.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Design, develop, maintain, and enhance Android mobile applications.

Collaborate with product owners, architects, and development teams to deliver scalable mobile solutions.

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to developers through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and day-to-day guidance.

Coordinate development activities with an established offshore engineering team located in India.

Help drive technical decision-making, development standards, and best practices across the Android platform.

Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex application issues.

Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning, estimation, and delivery processes.

Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Promote a collaborative and positive team environment through strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

 

Required Qualifications

 

7+ years of professional mobile application development experience.

5+ years of hands-on Android development experience.

Strong proficiency with:

Kotlin

Java

Android SDK

Android Studio

RESTful APIs

Git/version control systems

Experience building and maintaining enterprise-grade Android applications.

Demonstrated experience mentoring, coaching, or leading developers without direct people-management responsibility.

Experience collaborating with distributed or offshore development teams.

Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently while effectively coordinating efforts across multiple teams.

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

Experience with modern Android architecture patterns (MVVM, Clean Architecture, etc.).

Experience with Jetpack libraries and Android development best practices.

Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.

Prior experience in large enterprise environments.
