Role : Configuration Developer  

Location: Salt Lake City, UT (Remote — Mountain Time Zone preferred)

Duration: Long-term Contract

Role Summary

The Configuration Developer implements and maintains business rules within a proprietary SaaS electronic fulfillment platform serving the financial services industry. The role focuses on ensuring financial product applications — including insurance and annuity products — are completed accurately and in compliance with regulatory requirements. The developer participates across the full SDLC, from requirements gathering through deployment, and provides Tier 2 production support for configuration-related issues. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and direct client engagement are core parts of the day-to-day.

Technical Skills

• Markup / Data: XML — creation, editing, and troubleshooting (strong proficiency required)
• Platform / SaaS Configuration: FireLight® platform configuration concepts (direct experience preferred; ability to ramp quickly acceptable); SaaS business rules configuration
• Project & Workflow Tools: Jira, OpenAir
• Productivity / Editing Tools: Notepad++, Adobe Acrobat
• Integrations (Preferred): Salesforce, Redtail — third-party platform integration exposure
• AI Tools (Preferred): Experience with AI-enabled development or testing tools
• Domain Knowledge: Foundational understanding of financial services — insurance, annuities, and compliance requirements

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability — able to trace configuration issues to root cause
• High attention to detail, especially when working with XML-based business rules and compliance-driven workflows
• Clear written and verbal communication for cross-functional and client-facing collaboration
• Ability to document configuration decisions and support handoff to QA and production teams
