Data Engineering Manager

Overview

Seeking a hands-on engineering leader to guide a small data engineering team while driving modernization of a cloud-based data platform. 

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and perform code reviews for a team of engineers.
• Design and optimize cloud-based data warehouse solutions and ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Improve platform performance, scalability, and data reliability.
• Partner with development teams to support enterprise data initiatives.
• Establish best practices for architecture, testing, monitoring, and data quality.
• Evaluate and implement modern data engineering technologies.

Qualifications

5-6+  years of data engineering or backend engineering experience.

• Prior leadership or team management experience.
• Strong SQL and Python skills.
• Experience with cloud data warehouses (AWS Redshift preferred).
• Hands-on experience building data pipelines and data warehouse solutions.
• Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools (Airflow, dbt, or similar).
• Experience modernizing legacy data environments is a plus.

Additional Information

• Remote position with occasional travel to the New York City area.
