Job Description

Data Engineer | Mannheim, Germany | Hybrid

This employer is seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join their team in the pharmaceutical sector. They offer a secure work environment with exciting challenges and a commitment to innovation in process optimization.

The Role

  • Design and implement AI/ML models for optimizing complex manufacturing processes (e.g., Predictive Maintenance).
  • Analyze large datasets from pilot plants using statistical methods and big data time-series analysis.
  • Conceptualize, conduct, and statistically evaluate measurement setups for development and production machinery.
  • Provide technical leadership for sub-projects, including resource planning, deadline management, and external partner coordination.
  • Continuously develop and maintain production ML models, optimizing data flows between hardware and software.

What You'll Need

  • Degree in Process Engineering, Data Science, Physics, Computer Science, or a comparable field.
  • Solid professional experience in process/product development, preferably in a regulated medical technology environment.
  • Proficiency in Python and experience with hardware-near programming in C++.
  • Experience with ML libraries like TensorFlow or Keras.
  • In-depth knowledge of automated data acquisition and time-series analysis.
  • Familiarity with implementing Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) in an industrial context.
  • Good written and spoken German language skills.
  • Structured approach to work and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to precisely document complex issues.
