Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated and relational Storyteller to join our Central Video Team and help us discover, develop, and steward stories of God’s work throughout our church and community. This person will be passionate about finding the right stories, caring well for the people behind them, and equipping our teams with compelling stories that can be told well.

  • Sourcing faith stories and testimonies from across our campuses, ministries, groups, and community through relationships, referrals, events, outreach, and other channels.
  • Building strong relationships with pastors and ministry leaders to proactively uncover stories and maintain a pulse on where God is moving throughout the church.
  • Vetting and shepherding storytellers through thoughtful conversations and pastoral review, ensuring each person feels cared for, respected, and supported throughout the process.
  • Developing compelling stories through interviews and collaboration with Teaching Pastors and the Central Video Team to identify the strongest narrative, themes, and ministry applications.
  • Stewarding each story well by thoughtfully managing the journey from initial discovery through development, approval, production, and future opportunities.
  • Building and maintaining effective systems to organize the church’s story pipeline, track opportunities and progress, and create a growing library of diverse, vetted stories.
  • Equipping creative and Teaching teams with clear story briefs, context, recommendations, and timely communication so they have the right stories and information to tell them well.
  • Anticipating storytelling needs and proactively developing primary and backup story options before they become urgent requests.
  • Creating an environment for great storytelling by bringing organization, clarity, relationship, and thoughtful preparation to every stage of the process.
  • A strong personal faith and commitment to our church’s mission, vision, and values.
  • A bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, ministry, counseling, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in storytelling, interviewing, ministry, communications, journalism, pastoral care, or a related field.
  • A genuine passion for discovering and developing compelling stories and equipping others to tell them well.
  • Exceptional relational and communication skills, with the ability to listen deeply, build trust, and connect with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational and project-management skills, with a demonstrated ability to create systems, manage multiple opportunities, and follow through.
  • A highly proactive and self-sufficient approach, with the ability to build relationships and identify opportunities without waiting for direction.
  • The ability to navigate sensitive conversations with empathy, discernment, discretion, and emotional intelligence.
  • A collaborative and flexible attitude, with the ability to work effectively across ministries, campuses, and creative teams.
