Database Technology Manager

Description
We are looking for a Database Technology Manager to guide the direction and hands-on delivery of a modern data environment for our organization in Tampa, Florida. This Long-term Contract position is suited for a leader who can shape data strategy while remaining actively involved in architecture, engineering, reporting, and analytics work. The role partners with business and executive stakeholders to turn operational and financial data into reliable insights, scalable platforms, and stronger governance across the enterprise.

Responsibilities

Define and carry out an enterprise data strategy that supports reporting, analytics, integration, and governance objectives across the business. Lead the design, development, and optimization of data architecture, pipelines, and storage solutions using Microsoft SQL Server, Azure, and related technologies. Build and enhance business intelligence capabilities by delivering clear, impactful dashboards and reporting solutions through Power BI.

Collaborate with teams across Finance, Operations, Human Resources, and leadership to identify data needs and translate them into practical technical solutions. Oversee data warehousing initiatives and establish standards that improve data quality, consistency, accessibility, and long-term scalability. Contribute directly to data engineering efforts through hands-on development, troubleshooting, and performance tuning using SQL and Python. Guide integration and reporting solutions connected to platforms such as NetSuite and Workday to improve visibility and decision-making.

Manage and mentor a small data team, setting priorities, promoting best practices, and supporting future team growth. Drive continuous improvement in governance, documentation, and analytics processes to strengthen trust in enterprise data assets. Requirements
Proven experience leading data strategy, architecture, and delivery within a complex business environment. Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft SQL Server, including database design, query optimization, and data pipeline development.

Demonstrated success building business intelligence and data warehousing solutions, with advanced Power BI capabilities. Experience working with enterprise platforms such as NetSuite and Workday for reporting, integration, or analytics initiatives. Proficiency in Python for data transformation, automation, or engineering-related tasks. Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure and its use in modern data platform design and deployment. Ability to partner effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, and senior leadership to drive data-informed decisions.

Experience leading or mentoring small teams while balancing strategic planning with day-to-day execution. Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.
