Project Engineer

Our client, a specialist in the design and manufacture of advanced composite structures, based in Chippenham, are currently looking for a Project Engineer to join their growing team on a permanent basis.

They are passionate about pushing the boundaries of composites technology and delivering cutting-edge solutions to their clients. Job Summary:<br />They are seeking a motivated and dynamic Project Engineer to join the team and help to deliver their early stage R&amp;D projects.

You will be responsible for the design, development and project management of innovative and challenging advanced composite products and processes for high profile customers across the performance automotive and aerospace industries.

You will be working with thier consortium partners to develop technology that enables the end users to meet their technical and commercial requirements.

This means a mix of desk based work and hands-on practical work as well as managing team members, resources and suppliers to deliver the R&amp;D work within these projects, having a direct impact on the future growth potential of the business by developing our next generation of products.<br />You should be a highly capable individual with excellent attention to detail, methodical approach, a good Engineering background with a sound understanding and ability to apply fundamental Engineering first-principles, and a desire to deliver the best possible solution at all times.<br />You will be responsible for liaising with all key internal and external stakeholders in the<br />business, including customers and suppliers, to ensure that these products are manufactured and delivered to the customer’s requirements, often in challenging timeframes.

What they Offer<br />● Competitive salary and benefits.<br />● Dynamic environment, with excellent opportunities to learn quickly and develop your<br />career as the company grows.<br />● Opportunity to work with blue-chip customers in exciting, high-profile projects, where<br />your efforts will make a significant difference.<br />● Work pattern to support work-life balance.<br />Key Responsibilities<br />● Developing new designs and realising customer’s requirements, working closely with the Engineering, Quality and Production teams.<br />● Develop tooling designs, technical drawings and process instructions for manufacturing and inspection.<br />● Working with R&amp;D technicians to experiment and develop new products and processes.<br />● Customer and supplier liaison, and supporting with customer RFQ and technical queries.<br />● Support the implementation of process instructions and quality alerts where appropriate.<br />● Ensure existing products are managed, issues identified, promptly addressed and<br />continuously improved.<br />● Ensure R&amp;D traceability, keeping good records of trials and lessons learned.<br />● Assisting with the ongoing technical development of new technology, material<br />development and manufacturing processes within the company.
