Job Title: Product Owner/Manager – Cannabis Applications
Location: 100% Remote
Duration: 1-Year Contract

 

Previous experience working in Cannabis Applications/Industry required.

 

 

Background:

• Seeking an experienced Product Owner / Application Product Manager to support and enhance a Salesforce-based licensing and regulatory system.
• The Product Owner will act as a key liaison between business stakeholders and development teams, driving product vision, backlog prioritization, and delivery of high-quality solutions.
• This role will primarily focus on system stabilization, backlog refinement, and planning for future enhancements, including Phase II initiatives.

 

Key Deliverables:

• Updated and prioritized product backlog
• Product roadmap and release plans
• User stories, epics, and requirements documentation
• Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM)
• Sprint plans and status reports
• Continuous backlog grooming and stakeholder updates

 

Key Responsibilities:

Product Ownership & Strategy

• Define and maintain product vision aligned with business goals and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and manage product roadmap and release plans.
• Prioritize backlog to ensure delivery of high-value features.

Backlog & Requirements Management

• Create, refine, and maintain epics, features, and user stories in Azure DevOps.
• Define clear acceptance criteria and ensure completeness of requirements.
• Maintain Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM).

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Act as the primary liaison between business teams, stakeholders, and development teams.
• Conduct workshops, elicitation sessions, and stakeholder meetings.
• Gather feedback and continuously improve product outcomes.

Agile Delivery & Scrum Facilitation

• Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Ensure Agile best practices are followed.
• Support UAT planning, execution, and defect management.

System & Process Improvement

• Analyze and optimize business processes prior to automation.
• Support system stabilization and defect resolution initiatives.
• Contribute to Phase II planning (Inspections, Compliance, Enforcement).

Release & Delivery Management

• Participate in product releases and ensure timely delivery.
• Coordinate with development teams for deployment and testing.
• Track progress, risks, and communicate status to stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Strong experience with Salesforce applications.
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) for backlog and release management.
• Expertise in user story creation, backlog prioritization, and Agile ceremonies.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in regulatory, licensing, or government systems.
• Knowledge of regulated industries.
• Experience with Copado, APIs, and automated testing tools (e.g., Testim).
• Familiarity with PMI / PMBOK methodologies.
• Certifications: CSM, SAFe PO/PM, PMP, PMI-ACP.
• Experience working with State or Government clients.
