Job Description

Overview

We're hiring Senior CNC Machinists for our precision medical and prototyping shop in St. George, UT.

The work is high-mix, low-volume: complex prints, unproven prototype setups, and tight tolerances on large-format material. Parts run on large-format 5-axis CNC milling centers, and most jobs are new the first time you see them.

Machinists here own the process end to end — blueprint interpretation, multi-axis setup, workholding, first article prove-out, and final inspection — and work directly with engineers on part design. 5-axis experience is preferred, not required.

Why Join Us

  • Own the whole part: Print through final inspection stays with one machinist.
  • Prototype variety: New setups on unproven parts, not repeat production.
  • Engineer access: Work directly with engineers on design and manufacturability changes.

Compensation

  • Base pay: Market competitive and hourly — open to discussion. Tell us what you need.

Hiring on 1st and 2nd Shift

  • Monday - Friday

Responsibilities

  • Setups: Set up and run large-format CNC mills and lathes
  • Prove-Out: Take unproven prototype parts from first article through final run.
  • Print Interpretation: Apply GD&T to complex blueprints, routings, and engineering models.
  • Workholding: Build fixturing strategies around tool clearance and collision avoidance.
  • Program Edits: Adjust feeds, speeds, offsets, and tool comp at the control.
  • Inspection: Verify tight tolerances with micrometers, indicators, and precision gauges.
  • Design Feedback: Recommend part changes that improve manufacturability.
  • ERP Entry: Record quantities and process adjustments in the ERP system.

Qualifications

Required

  • 3+ years CNC machining in precision work
  • Set up complex jobs independently, start to finish
  • Read complex blueprints and apply GD&T
  • Hold tight tolerances on complex geometries
  • Read and write G/M-code at the control
  • Inspect parts with micrometers, indicators, and gauges
  • Solid feeds, speeds, and tool wear fundamentals

Preferred

  • 5-axis milling experience
  • Large-format machinery experience
  • Advanced workholding and fixture design
  • Prototype or first-article prove-out experience
  • Machining advanced and exotic alloys
  • Troubleshooting dimensional or tooling issues at the machine
  • ERP system experience
