Job Description

Netzschutztechniker / Inbetriebnahmetechniker Umspannwerke m/w/d | Bonn, Germany | Hybrid

This employer is a significant player in the energy infrastructure sector, actively contributing to the success of the energy transition across Western Germany. The Role

  • Oversee the commissioning of substations for medium, high, and extra-high voltage levels, including renewable energy integration.
  • Analyze and resolve faults in protection and control systems, collaborating with internal expert teams.
  • Program and parameterize high-tech protection and field devices from leading manufacturers (e.g., Siemens, Schneider, ABB).
  • Utilize advanced testing equipment (e.g., OMICROM) for precise commissioning of digital protection and control technology.
  • Work collaboratively with project management, planning, and installation teams.
  • Directly contribute to energy transition projects, including grid connection for wind and solar parks.

What You'll Need

  • Completed vocational training in electrical engineering.
  • Proven expertise in protection and/or control technology, with experience in commissioning switchgear.
  • Familiarity with communication standards (IEC 60870-5-101/103/104).
  • Experience with parameterization software (e.g., Siemens DIGSI, Schneider MICOM) and testing software (e.g., OMICROM TestUniverse) is advantageous.
  • Strong team player with excellent decision-making and communication skills, including fluent German.
  • Possess a Class B driver's license and willingness to travel regularly within Western Germany.
