Paramedic

• Location: Wichita, KS
• Facility: Via Christi Hospital, St. Teresa
• Department: Emergency Department
• Schedule: Night Shift | PRN, As Needed, 7:00pm-7:00am

• Provide basic and advanced life support treatment, care and evaluation of patients.
• Identify, intervene, and stabilize the ill or injured patient under the direction and in collaboration with a physician and/or Registered Nurse.
• Initiate and implement interventions based on transport team protocols. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition and treatment, as appropriate.
• Provide population specific education to the patient and family about the patient's illness and therapeutic interventions.
• Inspect, maintain and care for equipment to ensure safety of the transport team, patients and public.

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Required Credential(s):
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Paramedic credentialed from the Kansas Board of Emergency Medical Services (KSBEMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Preferred Credential(s):
  • Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Drivers License credentialed from the Kansas Department of Motor Vehicles.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's

degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required
