We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Frontend Engineer with deep expertise in React and TypeScript to build and evolve complex, data-intensive web applications. This role is suited for an engineer who enjoys solving challenging frontend architecture problems, managing complex application state, and building reliable user experiences for sophisticated business workflows.

You will join a small, high-ownership engineering team where frontend engineering plays a critical role in product development. The ideal candidate will have strong technical judgment, a bias toward shipping, and the ability to translate complex user and business requirements into intuitive, maintainable, and high-performance interfaces.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and evolve complex production-grade applications using React and TypeScript.
• Build data-dense, form-heavy interfaces supporting large numbers of inputs and complex user workflows.
• Design robust approaches for client-side state management, validation, dependencies, and application logic.
• Establish and evolve frontend architecture to support scalability, performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Build reusable components and frontend patterns that enable consistent and efficient product development.
• Optimise application performance across complex, data-intensive interfaces.
• Implement comprehensive testing strategies covering critical functionality, validation, state behaviour, and user workflows.
• Identify and resolve complex frontend issues involving application state, dependencies, edge cases, and performance.
• Collaborate closely with backend engineers to define and refine API contracts and integration patterns.
• Ensure frontend behaviour accurately reflects backend business logic and underlying calculation or processing systems.
• Work directly with domain experts and users to translate feedback into product, UX, and engineering improvements.
• Balance rapid product iteration with accuracy, validation, reliability, and auditability.
• Participate in technical design discussions and make sound frontend architecture decisions.
• Contribute to product decisions and help shape solutions in a highly collaborative engineering environment.
• Take ownership of features from requirements and design through implementation, testing, deployment, and iteration.
• Continuously improve frontend development standards, architecture, tooling, and engineering practices.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong hands-on expertise in frontend development.
• Deep production experience with React and TypeScript.
• Strong understanding of modern frontend architecture, component design, and application development practices.
• Proven experience building data-dense and form-heavy interfaces at scale.
• Strong experience handling complex validation, large repeating field sets, interdependent controls, and sophisticated application state.
• Excellent understanding of client-side state management, frontend performance, testing, and maintainability.
• Strong ability to reason about complex systems with extensive dependencies, edge cases, and business rules.
• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs and collaborating effectively with backend engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of frontend performance optimisation and reliable production application development.
• Experience developing maintainable, testable, and reusable frontend architectures.
• Strong product mindset with the ability to translate user feedback into practical technical and UX improvements.
• High attention to detail, particularly where accuracy, validation, and consistency are critical.
• Strong ownership mindset and willingness to take responsibility for features and technical decisions end-to-end.
• Bias toward shipping, learning from real users, and continuously improving products through iteration.
• Comfortable working in a small, fast-moving, high-ownership engineering environment with close collaboration between product and engineering.
• Full-stack or backend development experience is an advantage.
• Strong communication, collaboration, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
