AI & Automation Engineer - Investment Technology

We re partnering with an imprerssive investment organisation looking for a hands-on AI and Automation specialist to help modernise its investment technology platform and reporting functionalities.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of AI and automation initiatives from concept through to implementation, using technology to simplify complex processes, unlock value from trading and investment data, and improve operational efficiency.
The focus is on delivery, not just strategy. We re looking for someone with proven experience delivering similar AI, automation or technology transformation initiatives who can combine architecture, engineering and business analysis to turn business challenges into practical solutions.
Key responsibilities

• Deliver AI and automation initiatives end to end, from requirements gathering and solution design through to development, testing and implementation.
• Build AI-enabled applications, intelligent workflows and automation solutions that address real business problems.
• Leverage trading, portfolio and operational data to improve insights, streamline processes and support better decision-making.
• Develop and integrate solutions using technologies such as Python, APIs, data pipelines and AI platforms.
• Analyse existing workflows, identify inefficiencies and implement solutions that reduce manual effort and improve productivity.
• Work closely with investment, business and technology stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Design scalable, secure solutions that integrate with existing investment platforms and enterprise systems.

About you

• Experience within investment management, superannuation, wealth management, capital markets or trading technology will be required.
• Proven experience delivering AI, intelligent automation or comparable technology transformation initiatives into production.
• Strong hands-on technical capability across software engineering, data integration and applied AI.
• Experience building AI-enabled applications, LLM-powered solutions, AI agents or automated workflows.
• Understanding of solution architecture, systems integration and end-to-end technical delivery.
• Ability to bridge business analysis and engineering, translating complex requirements into working solutions.
• A pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset, with demonstrable examples of solutions built and business outcomes achieved.
