Associate Engineer, Manufacturing Engineering

Location: Mahwah, NJ Salary: $40.00 USD Hourly - $47.00 USD Hourly Description: Our client is currently seeking a Associate Engineer, Manufacturing Engineering for a 12 month + contract. Medical, dental, and vision insurance are available to qualified candidates who meet eligibility requirements. HYBRID ROLE - ONSITE 4 DAYS MANDATORY
The Project Engineer is responsible for the technical execution of capital equipment and manufacturing improvement projects from concept through production release.

Working closely with Project Managers, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Facilities, Supply Chain, and external equipment suppliers, this role ensures projects are delivered on schedule while meeting safety, quality, and operational objectives. Support Project Managers in the execution of capital projects by coordinating project activities, tracking action items, and communicating with cross-functional teams.

Attend project meetings, assist with equipment installations, FAT/SAT and validation activities, work with engineering teams and suppliers to resolve technical issues, and maintain project documentation. The role will involve spending time both in the office and on the manufacturing floor while learning the project lifecycle and progressively taking ownership of project tasks.

MUST HAVES

1. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Biomedical, or related field) entry level candidates encouraged to apply.
2. Strong Communication & Organizational Skills
Ability to communicate effectively across cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
3. Strong Technical Aptitude & Willingness to Learn
Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving skills, and a desire to learn project management, manufacturing processes, and capital equipment implementation.

NICE TO HAVES

Internship or co-op experience in manufacturing, engineering, or project-based work. Experience working in a team environment through school projects, internships, or extracurricular activities. Exposure to manufacturing processes, automation, or robotics. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement principles. Experience using Microsoft Project, Excel, or other project management tools.

Medical Device experience HIGHLY preferred
Education/Certifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
0-2 years of engineering experience (internships and co-op experience considered). -> 2-4 if senior
PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or other project management certifications are a plus but not required.
