Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with strong Oil & Gas domain knowledge to work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams across Data Engineering, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Business Intelligence (BI), and Analytics.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of Oil & Gas industry experience.
• Strong understanding of Oil & Gas business processes, operations, terminology, and data.
• Experience working as a Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, Data Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, or similar analytical role.
• Demonstrated product delivery mindset with the ability to think beyond individual requirements and contribute to broader, reusable business capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to help business stakeholders build and refine requirements rather than simply document requirements provided to them.
• Strong logical and analytical thinking, with the ability to identify the actual business problem behind a requested solution.
• Ability to challenge requirements constructively and distinguish between a business need, a proposed solution, and the underlying capability required.
• Demonstrated ability to convert business ideas and operational problems into detailed technical and data requirements.
• Experience working directly with Data Engineering, BI, Analytics, Data Science, or AI teams.
• Strong understanding of data concepts including data sources, pipelines, integration, transformations, models, quality, lineage, master and reference data, and structured and unstructured data.
• Experience analyzing data to support requirement definition and validation.
• Experience defining business rules, calculation logic, KPIs, metrics, and reporting requirements.
• Ability to understand technical discussions and communicate effectively with data engineers, architects, analysts, and developers.
• Ability to explain technical concepts and data issues clearly to business stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively across multiple business and technology teams.

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Experience working within a refinery, petrochemical, manufacturing, midstream, pipeline, terminal, logistics, or other Oil & Gas operational environment.
• Previous experience in engineering, process operations, operational analytics, or technical services is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of corporate and enterprise functions such as Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Commercial, Supply Chain, Procurement, or Corporate Planning is an added advantage.
• Experience working with both operational and corporate datasets, particularly where solutions require combining operational, financial, commercial, or workforce information.
• Hands-on or working knowledge of SQL for querying and analyzing data.
• Familiarity with Databricks, Microsoft Azure, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Python, and Data Lake or Lakehouse architectures.
• Familiarity with Generative AI, Large Language Models, Machine Learning, or advanced analytics concepts.
• Experience with enterprise data modernization, analytics, or digital transformation initiatives.
• Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, data catalogs, semantic models, and enterprise KPI definitions.
