Job description

The Skin Surgery Center | Winston-Salem, NC
Mohs Closures • General Dermatology • Cosmetics

Build a rewarding career where your surgical skills, clinical judgment, and commitment to patients can shine.

The Skin Surgery Center in Winston-Salem is seeking an experienced dermatology Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our team. This opportunity offers a practice mix focused primarily on Mohs closures, complemented by general dermatology and cosmetic services.

A minimum of two years of experience practicing as a dermatology APP is required.

An Opportunity to Put Your Skills to Work

Our practice brings together medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology, with services including Mohs surgery, reconstructive surgery, an in-house dermatopathology lab, and cosmetic treatments. You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with a multidisciplinary dermatology team while helping patients feel informed, supported, and confident in their care.

This role is ideal for an APP who enjoys hands-on procedures, values lasting patient relationships, and welcomes variety throughout the clinical day.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform closures following Mohs surgery, working closely with the Mohs surgeon and clinical team.
  • Provide general dermatology evaluations, treatment, and follow-up care.
  • Perform cosmetic consultations and treatments consistent with your training, experience, and practice protocols.
  • Educate patients about treatment plans, wound care, recovery, and skin health.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with the care team.
  • Contribute to a welcoming, collaborative environment that puts patients first.
  • At least two years of experience as a practicing dermatology PA or NP—required.
  • Strong surgical skills, including suturing and wound closure experience.
  • Current national certification and an active North Carolina PA or NP license, or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Sound clinical judgment and a thoughtful, compassionate approach to patient care.
  • A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology.

Why Join Us?

Join a practice where you can contribute your existing expertise while continuing to grow professionally. With support from Qualderm, this opportunity combines meaningful patient care, collaboration with dermatology colleagues, and a varied clinical focus.

Our benefits include competitive compensation, medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) with company match, malpractice coverage, CME support, and generous time off.
