About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Executive / Advanced Specialist - Controls to join our Product Engineering Development (PED) team. This role is responsible for driving automation, controls engineering, process development, equipment validation, and manufacturing excellence initiatives while ensuring compliance with global standards and project timelines.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in industrial automation, PLC programming, robotics, vision systems, MES, and manufacturing process optimization within an automotive manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Project & Process Development

• Lead automation and controls activities for new product introductions and manufacturing projects.

• Develop robust manufacturing processes, tooling, and equipment aligned with program timelines.

• Conduct manufacturing feasibility assessments and provide capital requirements for new RFQs.

• Collaborate with cross-functional and global teams during project reviews and implementation.

• Drive automation projects from concept through installation, commissioning, and machine validation.

Controls & Automation

• Configure, install, troubleshoot, and validate MES systems independently.

• Program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC systems (Mitsubishi, Allen-Bradley).

• Install, configure, and validate vision inspection systems (Keyence, Cognex).

• Program and troubleshoot SCARA robots and support team training.

• Install, program, and validate IAI Servo systems.

• Lead localization and low-cost automation initiatives.

Manufacturing Excellence

• Optimize production processes to improve safety, quality, productivity, and OEE.

• Develop manufacturing line layouts considering material flow, ergonomics, and lean principles.

• Drive continuous improvement projects to improve yield, capacity, and process capability.

• Ensure adherence to manufacturing process specifications and global validation standards.

• Support FMEA development and process documentation activities.

Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement

• Lead root cause investigations and corrective action implementation.

• Apply structured problem-solving methodologies including:

  • 8D

  • DMAIC

  • Ishikawa (Fishbone)

  • 5 Why Analysis

• Resolve manufacturing issues and drive sustainable improvements.

Team Development

• Train technicians and operators on automation systems and manufacturing processes.

• Develop team competencies through coaching, training, and work allocation.

• Provide technical guidance to support day-to-day production requirements.

• 8-10 years of experience in Automotive Tier-1 Suppliers or OEMs.
