Job Description

Dr. Rodriguez Audiology & Hearing Center, located in the middle of Southeastern New Mexico, is a thriving private audiology practice dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centered hearing healthcare. Our office works with both adult and pediatric populations, offering a full range of diagnostic and rehabilitative services in a collaborative, supportive environment. We are proud to serve a diverse community and are committed to clinical excellence and innovation.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated, compassionate, and enthusiastic 4th-year Au.D. extern to join our team for the 2026-2027 academic year. The extern will gain hands-on experience in key all aspects of audiology, working closely with our audiologist and support staff in a professional yet friendly setting.

Externship Opportunities Include:

· Comprehensive audiologic evaluations for adults and children

· Hearing aid consultations, fittings, and follow-up care with major manufacturers

· Educational Audiology experience

Key Responsibilities

· Conduct comprehensive audiologic evaluations for patients of all ages

· Perform hearing aid fittings, real-ear verification, adjustments, and follow-ups

· Educate patients and families on hearing loss, hearing aid use, and communication strategies

· Maintain accurate, timely, and HIPAA-compliant patient records

· Collaborate with providers, support staff, and community partners

· Participate in community outreach and educational events as needed

Qualifications

· Currently enrolled in an accredited Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) program

· Eligible for a 4th year externship placement (2026-2027 academic year)

· Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Professional, compassionate, and patient-centered approach to care

· Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

· Willingness to travel between clinic locations if assigned a rotating schedule

Compensation & Schedule

· $30k Stipend

· No benefits

· Full-time (Monday–Friday) schedule, based on clinic hours and academic requirements

· Start and end dates will align with your university’s externship requirements
