Job Description

Position: Senior MuleSoft Integration Engineer

Location: Research Triangle Park, NC 27709
Client: State of North Carolina
Duration: 12+ Months
Job Description: Seeking a senior Integration Engineer to design, build, and oversee real-time, on-demand, batch, and scheduled data interfaces using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform. You will manage end-to-end integration programs, partner with Salesforce and other platforms, and ensure high availability, scalability, and best practices across environments. Responsibilities include requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, go-live support, and ongoing maintenance, with hands-on delivery across API management, ETL, and data integration patterns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and operate MuleSoft-based integration solutions and APIs
  • Integrate Salesforce and other systems using standard/custom connectors; manage API life cycle via MuleSoft API Manager
  • Implement data modeling, API/ETL processes, and data cleansing/refresh strategies
  • Build scalable integration patterns, including messaging, caching, branching, parallel processing
  • Provide production support, technical sizing, and architectural guidance across multiple environments

Required/Preferred Skills:

  • MuleSoft ESB experience, including cloud configurations and multi-environment installs (2+ years)
  • Strong data formats experience: JSON, XML, CSV, fixed-width (2+ years)
  • 5+ years integrating via web services, APIs, and ETL management
  • 7+ years in data integration, API development, and complex mapping
  • Experience with IBM IIB/ACE (highly desired, 5+ years)
  • AWS cloud platform experience (highly desired, 2+ years)
  • Proficiency in scripting: Groovy, JavaScript, Python, Bash, JSON (2+ years)
  • MuleSoft integration with Salesforce via standard/custom connectors (3+ years)
  • API management, proxy endpoints, API portals, and analytics using MuleSoft API Manager (5+ years)

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with Boomi, IIB/ACE, or IBM integration patterns
  • Hands-on experience with API analytics, high availability, and performance tuning
