Job Description

2054 Senior UAT  / Business Testing Analyst

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior UAT / Business Testing Analyst to lead and coordinate User Acceptance Testing for business-critical technology initiatives.

This role will serve as the bridge between business users, subject matter experts, IT development teams, QA, and leadership to ensure new functionality works correctly from a business perspective before being released into production.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and possesses strong business acumen. This person must be able to learn complex business processes, translate those processes into realistic UAT scenarios, coordinate testing activities with business users, document results and defects, and work with IT teams to drive issues through resolution.

Experience within auto finance, financial services, lending, loan servicing, or another highly transactional environment is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for new applications, enhancements, integrations, and business functionality.
  • Partner with business SMEs to understand business processes, requirements, workflows, and expected system behavior.
  • Develop and document UAT test plans, test scenarios, test cases, acceptance criteria, and testing results.
  • Translate business requirements into realistic day-to-day business scenarios to validate how functionality will operate in production.
  • Coordinate UAT activities across business users, SMEs, IT, development, QA, and other project stakeholders.
  • Ensure business testers understand the functionality being delivered and provide guidance or training on how the product or feature is expected to work.
  • Coordinate tester access, credentials, test data, and test-environment readiness.
  • Validate end-to-end business processes prior to production deployment.
  • Test transactional and servicing scenarios such as payments, payment methods, account servicing, delinquency-related processes, customer transactions, and exception scenarios.
  • Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects discovered during UAT.
  • Communicate defects clearly to development and technical teams and provide sufficient business context for troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate defect resolution and retesting to confirm issues have been corrected before production release.
  • Track UAT progress against project milestones and deadlines and proactively identify risks that could impact delivery.
  • Maintain organized documentation of test cases, results, outstanding defects, approvals, and business sign-off.
  • Facilitate communication between business users and technical teams when requirements or expected system behavior are unclear.
  • Provide regular UAT status updates, risks, issues, defect status, and readiness updates to leadership.
  • Support final business validation and sign-off prior to production deployment.
  • Help ensure new functionality is operationally ready and meets business expectations before launch.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in UAT, business testing, business analysis, QA, or technology project delivery with significant responsibility for User Acceptance Testing.
  • Strong experience coordinating UAT with business users and subject matter experts.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand complex business processes and translate them into test scenarios and test cases.
  • Experience validating end-to-end business workflows rather than simply executing technical test scripts.
  • Strong defect identification, documentation, tracking, and retesting experience.
  • Experience working directly with development and IT teams to communicate and resolve defects.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to quickly understand how technology supports business operations.
  • Excellent organization and follow-through with the ability to manage multiple testing activities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable communicating testing status, risks, defects, and production-readiness concerns to leadership.
  • Experience working in structured test environments and coordinating access, credentials, test data, and tester readiness.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within auto finance or automotive financial services.
  • Experience with the servicing side of lending/finance, including payments, delinquency, account servicing, customer transactions, and related workflows.
  • Financial services, consumer lending, banking, or loan servicing experience.
  • Experience supporting major system implementations, product launches, or enterprise technology initiatives.
  • Experience working with geographically dispersed or cross-border business teams, including Canadian operations.
  • Familiarity with defect/test management and project tracking tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, ALM, or similar platforms.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The strongest candidate will be someone who is extremely organized and always on top of the details. They don't just wait for someone to hand them test cases. They learn the business, understand how users actually perform their jobs, anticipate scenarios that need to be validated, and make sure UAT is completed thoroughly and on schedule.

They should be comfortable sitting between business and IT—working with SMEs to validate functionality, identifying when something doesn't work as expected, documenting the issue, taking it back to the development team, and following it through resolution and retesting before it reaches production.
