Senior Tax Accountant | Sales & Use Tax | Hybrid | Up to $52/hr | One year contract

Our client, a leading global healthcare and life sciences organization, is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join their team. As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will be part of the Tax and Finance Department supporting the Corporate Tax, Accounting, and Compliance teams. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills that will align successfully within the organization.

Pay Range:

$35.00 - $52.00 per hour

What's the Job?

• Oversee sales and use tax and property tax compliance activities, including preparation, review, and filing of tax returns.
• Perform tax research and provide guidance on taxability issues to internal stakeholders and business partners.
• Support state and local tax audits, ensuring timely responses and resolution of audit findings.
• Maintain tax-related general ledger reconciliations and ensure compliance with SOX controls and GAAP accounting standards.
• Identify and implement process improvements within the tax function while supporting special projects and cross-functional initiatives.

What's Needed?

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in Accounting, Tax, Finance, or Sales & Use Tax compliance.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis/reporting.
• Experience working with ERP systems and knowledge of SOX controls and GAAP accounting principles.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
