Job description
Location: US, Remote (Eastern Hours)
About BOI
BOI is the AI partner that Walmart, Coca-Cola, and Mastercard call when AI needs to drive growth, not just savings. We rebuild how work gets done, starting from the outcomes each team exists to deliver: agents do the work, people own the judgment, and the capacity it frees goes to growth. We bring together the unusually strong in frontier enterprise AI, then give them the ownership to make it happen. If you're looking for a comfortable place to hide, we're not it. If you want to build the future of enterprise AI with people who will make you better: welcome home.
Your Role
Own the Technical Build
- Own the architecture and engineering quality of every client build, from first prototype to production in the client's environment.
- Shape solution architecture across models, clouds and platforms, and make build, buy or configure calls you can defend to a client CTO. Our clients run on Azure, AWS and Google Cloud. We're independent of every vendor, so the answer is whatever is best for the client.
- Set the engineering standards every build meets: evaluation of AI outputs, security and data governance, observability, and production reliability.
- Build the reusable components, patterns and internal products that let each engagement start further ahead than the last.
Lead with Clients
- Sit with client CTOs, CIOs and business executives as BOI's senior technical voice. Explain technical choices in terms of cost, risk and value, so non-technical leaders can decide.
- Lead client security, compliance and procurement reviews, and get our systems approved to run in their environments.
- Work forward deployed: get into client environments early, build alongside their teams, and keep building as the relationship grows.
Shape What We Sell
- Scope and estimate builds for proposals with our Directors of Applied AI, so what we sell can be built on time and to standard.
- Turn what we've built into case studies, reusable IP and technical thought leadership.
Build the Team
- Lead, coach and grow our engineering team, roughly doubling it over the next year. Set high standards, give direct feedback, and give credit generously.
- Run AI-first ways of working across engineering, with your own tools and workflows as the example.
- Help build BOI like an owner, alongside our leadership team in the US and Europe.
What We Look For
We are deliberately not for everyone. We look for a specific combination of qualities:
- You've shipped AI systems to production at enterprise scale, inside environments with real security, compliance and data constraints.
- You've led engineering in a consultancy, agency or other project-based environment. You're comfortable with work that changes shape every few months and with stacks you didn't choose.
- You've founded a company or been early at a startup. You can build the team as well as the system, and you make good decisions before everything is known.
- You explain technical choices to non-technical executives in plain language, and they leave the room ready to decide.
What We Offer
- You'll set the technical direction of a growing AI company and shape how BOI builds in every market we work in.
- You'll build compounding skills at the frontier of AI while others are still catching up.
- What your team builds goes live in client systems within weeks, and you see the value it creates.
- We're independent of every vendor, so you work across every model and cloud, building with whatever is best and swapping it when something better ships.
- You get the freedom to prototype, experiment, and push boundaries on what's possible with AI.
Benefits
We also offer comprehensive health benefits, 401(k), 25 days PTO, hybrid working (if based out of NYC), professional development support, and the opportunity to work alongside some of the world's leading AI practitioners on high-impact enterprise transformations.
BOI is an equal opportunity employer: we celebrate diversity and welcome all backgrounds and identities.
