AtChargefox, we're making electric vehicle charging simpler, smarter and more accessible. As EV adoption continues to grow, so does the technology behind it, and we're looking for a Software Engineer to help us build the platform that thousands of Australians rely on every day.
This is an opportunity to join a collaborative engineering team where you'll work alongside experienced engineers, contribute to meaningful product development, and continue growing your technical skills while solving real world problems.
What you'll be doingAs a Software Engineer, you'll play an important role in designing, building and maintaining features across theChargefox platform. You'll collaborate closely with product managers, designers and fellow engineers to deliver high quality solutions that improve the experience for our customers.
Your day-to-day might include:
- Building new features in our Ruby on Rails platform
- Writing clean, maintainable and well tested code
- Collaborating with Product and Design to bring new ideas to life
- Participating in code reviews and learning from experienced engineers
- Supporting the reliability, performance and stability of the platform
- Contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing
We're looking for someone who enjoys building quality software, is curious by nature, and values collaboration just as much as technical capability.
You'll ideally bring:
- Around 2+ years' commercial experience developing with Ruby on Rails
- A solid understanding of web technologies, REST APIs and databases
- A strong focus on writing clean, readable and maintainable code
- The confidence to ask questions, learn quickly and take ownership of your work
- Great communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem solving
Bonus points if you've worked with:
- Domain Driven Design (DDD)
- Docker or other containerisation technologies
- Hotwire or Stimulus
