Senior SAP IS-U ABAP Developer (Billing, Invoicing & Print Workbench)
Term : Long Term Contract
Location : Remote + Once a month travel to CA (Paid)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced SAP IS-U ABAP Developer with deep expertise in Utility Billing, Invoicing, and Print Workbench (PWB) to support large-scale utility operations and customer billing initiatives. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience developing, enhancing, and supporting SAP IS-U billing solutions, bill print processes, customer correspondence generation, and billing output stabilization activities.

This role requires a strong technical background in SAP IS-U, ABAP, FI-CA, Print Workbench, Smart Forms, Adobe Forms, and production support within utility environments.

Required Skills & Experience

SAP IS-U Expertise

• Strong experience with SAP IS-U Billing and Invoicing
• Experience supporting utility customer billing lifecycle processes
• Knowledge of rate configuration impacts on billing outputs
• Experience with billing document development, enhancements, and support
• Familiarity with utility industry business processes

ABAP Development

• 7+ years of SAP ABAP development experience
• Experience with object-oriented ABAP, enhancements, BADIs, user exits, reports, interfaces, and conversions
• Strong debugging and performance tuning skills
• Experience working with SAP IS-U technical objects and transactional processes

Billing Output & Customer Communication

• Hands-on experience with:
  • SAP IS-U Billing
  • Invoicing
  • Customer correspondence generation
  • Bill print processes
  • Utility billing document development
  • Billing output support and troubleshooting
• Experience supporting billing stabilization and hypercare activities

Print Workbench & Forms

• Strong experience with SAP Print Workbench (PWB)
• Experience creating and maintaining utility bills and customer communication templates
• Hands-on expertise with:
  • Smart Forms
  • Adobe Forms
  • SAPscript (preferred)
• Experience designing, formatting, and enhancing customer-facing billing documents

FI-CA

• Experience working with SAP FI-CA (Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable)
• Understanding of integration between IS-U Billing, Invoicing, and FI-CA processes

Production Support

• Experience providing Level 2/Level 3 production support
• Defect analysis and resolution for billing and invoicing processes
• Root cause analysis for bill print and correspondence issues
• Experience supporting high-volume utility billing environments

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP IS-U implementation or enhancement project experience
• SAP BTP and SAP UI5 exposure
• Experience with utility industry customer service and billing operations
• Knowledge of SAP Security concepts
• Experience in Agile delivery environments

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance SAP IS-U ABAP solutions supporting billing and invoicing processes.
• Configure and support Print Workbench templates and bill formatting requirements.
• Design and maintain Smart Forms and Adobe Forms for customer communications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve billing output, invoicing, and correspondence generation issues.
• Support production operations during hypercare and stabilization periods.
• Collaborate with functional and business teams to implement billing enhancements.
• Perform defect resolution, root cause analysis, testing, and deployment activities.
• Ensure reliable generation and delivery of customer bills and correspondence.
