Job Description

Navantia UK is a new force in British industry, supporting the UK’s defence, energy and maritime ambitions. We’re doing this by creating state-of-the-art sovereign defence capabilities, investing in the UK to modernise industrial facilities, and bolstering the nation's energy security. Established in 2022, Navantia UK is a subsidiary of Navantia SA, a Spanish state-owned company with over 300 years of naval shipbuilding history. In January 2025, Navantia UK completed the acquisition of Harland & Wolff and its four historic facilities in Belfast, Appledore, Methil, and Arnish. By combining Harland & Wolff’s proud heritage and facilities with Navantia’s global expertise, Navantia UK is well-positioned to strengthen Britain’s defence, maritime and energy industrial capabilities, supporting jobs and economic growth across the UK.

Navantia UK is pursuing a number of major defence opportunities that will shape the long-term future of the business, our workforce and our UK facilities.

We're looking for a Senior Campaign Manager to lead the external campaigns that support those opportunities.

Working as part of the Communications & External Relations team, you'll bring together communications, stakeholder engagement, public affairs, marketing, events and digital activity into a single campaign plan aligned to business objectives.

You'll work closely with Business Development, Commercial and programme teams, helping ensure external engagement supports wider capture and bid strategies. While those teams focus on customer relationships, technical solutions and commercial propositions, your role will be to build understanding, support and momentum among the wider audiences that can influence programme success.

This is a hands-on role. You'll be expected to develop campaign strategies, manage delivery, coordinate agencies, engage stakeholders directly and work with colleagues across the business to keep activity aligned and moving forward.

What you'll be doing

  • Developing and delivering integrated campaign plans for major defence and maritime opportunities.

  • Building stakeholder engagement programmes that support business and programme objectives.

  • Identifying and mobilising influential supporters across government, industry, trade unions, local authorities, academia, supply chains and local communities.

  • Coordinating activity across communications, public affairs, marketing, digital channels, events and stakeholder engagement.

  • Working with retained agencies and external partners to deliver campaigns effectively.

  • Developing messaging, briefing materials, content and engagement plans.

  • Monitoring political, policy, media and stakeholder developments and advising programme leaders on opportunities and risks.

  • Supporting visits, events, roundtables, conferences and stakeholder engagement activity.

  • Tracking campaign performance and providing regular updates to senior management.

  • Working closely with Business Development and Commercial teams to ensure campaign activity supports broader growth ambitions.

You'll likely have experience in campaign management, corporate affairs, public affairs, stakeholder engagement or strategic communications.

More important than job title is the ability to operate in a complex environment, manage multiple workstreams and bring together people with different priorities around a common objective.

We're particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Experience developing and delivering complex campaigns.

  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.

  • The ability to engage confidently with senior leaders and external stakeholders.

  • Experience coordinating agencies and external suppliers.

  • Strong writing, planning and project management skills.

  • Sound judgement and an ability to spot opportunities and risks.

  • A practical, delivery-focused approach.

Experience within defence, maritime, infrastructure, energy or other regulated industries would be beneficial, as would experience supporting major bids, procurements or investment programmes.

  • Competitive base pay
  • Company pension
  • 33 days holiday
  • Life assurance
  • Healthcare Cash Plan (optional)

***Please note as part of the onboarding process all candidates will need to complete BPSS security clearance***
