Software Engineer, Foundation

About the Role

This is a Foundation team role at a Series B EdTech platform used by tens of millions of students worldwide. You will own the technical base that the entire engineering organisation builds on, spanning the Flutter mobile app, agentic and AI infrastructure, developer experience tooling, and Go services. Your work multiplies across more than 25 engineers and ships directly to a massive student audience.

What You'll Do

• Own core parts of the Flutter mobile app, including shared components, the design system, state management, performance, and tooling.

• Build and maintain agentic and AI infrastructure, including custom MCP servers, a background agent platform, and evaluation and feedback loops.

• Integrate agentic coding tooling into day-to-day engineering workflows across the team.

• Improve developer experience through CI/CD pipelines, release tooling, and faster feedback loops between writing code and seeing it live.

• Ship user-facing product features alongside platform and infrastructure work.

• Keep the existing foundation reliable and dependable so a growing engineering team can build on it with confidence.

What We're Looking For

• 2 to 4 years of production experience building mobile (Flutter and Dart) or web applications, without requiring deep platform-engineering or architecture tenure.

• Daily, fluent use of agentic coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or similar, with a genuine point of view on where they work well and where they fall short.

• Strong academic background in computer science or a related field from a well-regarded university.

• An eye for design: you notice inconsistent spacing, an animation that feels slightly off, or a component that is close but not quite right.

• Clear English communication and a genuine preference for improving systems that slow other people down, whether or not your name ends up on a shipped feature.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: 80,000 to 110,000 EUR annually. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
