Position: Structural Engineer

Location: Wakefield, MA & Avon, IN

Duration: Full Time

Key Responsibilities

• Design s Analysis: Develop structural plans for buildings, bridges, industrial

facilities, and other structures, considering loads, materials, and environmental factors such as wind, seismic activity, and snow

• Code Compliance: Ensure designs meet local, state, and international codes (e.g., AASHTO, ACI, AISC, IBC) and safety regulations
• Software Use: Apply CAD, BIM, and structural analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) to model structures, simulate loads, and verify performance
• Collaboration: Work closely with architects, construction managers, and other engineers to integrate structural solutions with aesthetic and functional

requirements

• Project Support: Prepare technical specifications, bid documents, and reports; review contractor submittals; and provide guidance during construction.
• Inspection s Maintenance: Evaluate existing structures for safety, recommend repairs or upgrades, and ensure ongoing compliance with updated codes
• Feasibility s Risk Assessment: Conduct studies to determine structural viability and identify potential risks

Typical Educations Certifications

• Education: Bachelor s degree in Structural, Civil, or related engineering;
• Licensure: Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam required; Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is preferred
• Skills: Proficiency in structural analysis software, knowledge of materials (steel, concrete, masonry), and understanding of building codes and standards

Experience Level (3 5 Years)

At this stage, the engineer is expected to independently handle medium-to-large projects, manage design elements, and contribute to project planning and execution. They may lead drafting teams, prepare detailed designs, and provide technical oversight while still working under senior engineers guidance
