Job Description

We are seeking an organised, personable Receptionist to join our team at Acorn Vets on a full-time or part-time permanent basis.

 

Acorn Veterinary Surgery is a thriving two-site practice with state-of-the-art equipment including an in-house laboratory, digital x-ray, ultrasound, digital dental x-ray, and a dedicated operating theatre.Our main site is situated on Portland Road in Hove, with a branch practice in Hangleton. You'll join a passionate team of 4 Veterinary Surgeons, 7 Registered Veterinary Nurses and 3 receptionist's working across both sites.

 

Both locations offer an excellent quality of life. The Hove practice is just a five-minute walk from the seafront and only ten minutes by car from the South Downs. With vibrant Brighton on the doorstep and excellent transport links to London, it's a fantastic place to live and work.

How You’ll Make a Difference

 

As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clients, playing a key role in delivering a welcoming, professional and compassionate experience at every interaction.

 

You’ll support the smooth running of the practice by managing appointments, handling enquiries, supporting client communications and working closely with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to ensure a positive client and patient journey.

 

Working Pattern

 
* Working 30 - 40 hours over 4 days a week; hours and shift patterns can be flexible. You will be required to work 1 in 4 Saturday mornings 8.30am to 12.30pm.
 

Key Responsibilities

 
* Provide an excellent experience to all patients and customers.
* Serve as the initial point of contact for patients and visitors.
* Answer the telephone in a professional manner.
* Greet visitors in a friendly manner.
* Booking, cancelling and changing appointments, and follow up treatment as needed.
* Answer general administrative questions or direct them to the appropriate party.
* Deal with some admin responsibility.
* Quickly resolve issues related to phone, emails or paperwork.
* Processing and recording payments.
* Dispensing medications/prescriptions.
* Keeping client/patient records up to date.
