Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced MySQL DBA with 8+ years of hands-on experience in database administration, performance tuning, high availability, backup/recovery, and production support. The candidate should have strong experience managing large-scale MySQL environments and troubleshooting critical database issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and support MySQL databases in production and non-production environments.

• Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and migrations.

• Monitor database health, performance, capacity, and availability.

• Perform SQL query and database performance tuning.

• Analyze slow queries, execution plans, locks, deadlocks, and resource utilization.

• Configure and troubleshoot MySQL Replication and high-availability environments.

• Manage backup and recovery using tools such as MySQL Enterprise Backup, XtraBackup, or equivalent.

• Perform database recovery and disaster-recovery activities.

• Troubleshoot database incidents and provide root-cause analysis.

• Manage users, roles, privileges, security, and access controls.

• Work with development teams to optimize SQL queries, indexes, stored procedures, and database design.

• Perform database upgrades, migrations, and version upgrades with minimal downtime.

• Develop monitoring, automation, and maintenance scripts.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of MySQL DBA experience

• Strong knowledge of MySQL 5.7/8.x

Production Scenario Experience

Candidates should be able to troubleshoot scenarios such as:

• Sudden high CPU or memory utilization

• Slow-running SQL queries

• Database outages

• Backup failures

• Database corruption/recovery

• Storage capacity issues

• Performance degradation after a database upgrade
