Job Title: Technical Environment Manager

Location:  Boston, MA 02108 (Hybrid)

Job Type: Contract

Duration: 6-12 months

Job Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Technical Environment Manager to support the BEST (Business Enterprise Systems Transformation) Program. This multi-year initiative is replacing the Client's HR and Payroll system with a modern SaaS cloud-based ERP solution supporting more than 95,000 employees. The Technical Environment Manager will own the end-to-end management of technical environments throughout the project lifecycle, from implementation through go-live and ongoing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support the overall and detailed configuration of all environments (user access, data status, functional configuration, integration status)
  • Monitor SI and product vendor operational protocols and coordinate software upgrades and configuration updates
  • Oversee SLA metrics for SaaS operations and support/maintenance services
  • Design and implement a cross-system monitoring solution spanning Cloud SaaS, legacy on-premises, and EOTSS-managed services
  • Manage integrated touchpoints: CIW data warehouse, SSO, Mobius reporting, Time Reporting Systems, PrintShop, MOVEit
  • Provide regular written status reports on environment conditions and future plans
  • Support all phases of testing: end-to-end, UAT, payroll parallel, and pre-go-live operational testing
  • Oversee systems training for administrators and operational support staff
  • Define protocols for troubleshooting, patching, and SLA escalation
  • Participate in the Maintenance and Operations Workstream to enable future state operational readiness
  • Align with CTR, BEST, and EOTSS on disaster recovery, data security, and business continuity

Required Skills

  • Experience managing technical environments for large-scale SaaS implementations
  • System administration and monitoring across multiple application platforms
  • Root-cause analysis leadership and cross-team resolution coordination
  • Full SDLC experience: requirements, testing, go-live conversion, post-go-live operations
  • LAN/WAN/VPN and remote network technologies (TCP/IP, HTTP, FTP, Ethernet, ATM, CDPD)
  • Agile-based operations experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work across multiple delivery partners in a 24x7 operational environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Skills

  • Workday HR and Payroll implementation experience (government agency preferred)
  • Workday Prism data and reporting solution
  • Workday user security management
  • SaaS cloud migrations from legacy on-premises systems
  • Configuration management concepts and tools
  • Microsoft security tools; Snowflake solution and security
  • Audit, compliance, or governance experience
  • Experience generating operational procedures, data flow diagrams, and network/security diagrams.
