Responsibilities:
- Analyze work force, facility layout and operational data such as production costs, flow charts and production schedules to determine efficient utilization of workers and equipment.
- Collect data and perform engineering studies including process waste evaluation, time studies, value stream maps, efficiency, process capability studies, controls charts and others.
- Assist evaluation, development and implement Lean Manufacturing in all processes to improve efficiency, increase productivity or improve quality.
- Recommend methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing work flow, relocating work stations and equipment.
- Train personnel and perform Kaizen events. Work individually or with groups in special projects. Administer 5S and supports My Kaizen Idea Programs.
Required Experience:
Education
- Associate's degree in engineering or science field.
Work Experience
- At least 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge and experience using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools.
- Excellent statistical/mathematical aptitude.
- Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: inserting headers, page breaks, page numbers and tables and/or adjusting table columns).
- Intermediate level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: applying a theme, formatting character spacing, inserting a picture, changing slide layout and theme colors, adding transitions, customizing slide numbers, changing chart style and/or formatting font).
- Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).
- Technical writing ability.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or science field.
- Knowledge of Minitab and AutoCad.
