Bernal Heights Neighborhood Center (BHNC) is a non-profit community-based multi-service agency founded in 1978. Its mission is to preserve and enhance the ethnic, cultural, and economic diversity of Bernal Heights and surrounding neighborhoods by promoting community action for a just and equitable community. BHNC focuses on low and moderate-income individuals, offering affordable housing, linguistically and culturally responsive services for vulnerable adults, seniors, youth, and families, leadership development, and community organizing. They serve a thousand youth, adults, and seniors annually through programs in Housing Development and Rehabilitation, Senior Programs, Youth Programs, Employment Programs, and Community Organizing.
