Cronofy’s mission is to Schedule Everything For Everyone.
Over the past 9 years they’ve grown a self-sustaining, profitable business serving hundreds of SaaS businesses around the world. From market leaders like GoDaddy, Houzz and Indeed through to the smallest tech start-ups. They're truly international, with customers in the US, EMEA and APAC.
Cronofy’s success to date has been driven by providing the underlying technology powering scheduling in SaaS applications. They're now working with enterprises directly, helping them address scheduling challenges at business function level in recruiting, support and service as well as organisation wide.
People use their Scheduler to personalise their scheduling from within Gmail, Outlook, Zendesk and Hubspot. Software companies use their Scheduling API and embeddable components to deliver first-class scheduling capabilities from within their applications.
Cronofy believe that managing time should take minimal effort and consider a person’s whole life with complete respect for their privacy.
We spoke to Cronofy's Head of Talent, Mark Harbottle, to uncover their experience with Haystack 👇
The Challenge
Cronofy is scaling and growing the team which is a very exciting time, but being the only tech talent sourcer at Cronofy I need to hone in on tools that will allow me to use my time most effectively. Haystack’s algorithm allows our roles to be matched to techies who are well suited to our requirements and start conversations directly with them, through both direct applications and proactive sourcing for my priority roles.
The ability to get in front of quality candidates who aren’t actively looking but would be a great fit is also a struggle, as they tend to switch off from LinkedIn and aren’t hanging around on job boards.
The Solution
Using Haystack we are able to emphasise our employer branding and company values directly to the tech community. Even when we have no active roles on the platform, techies can still join our talent pool so that we can get ahead of the game for upcoming roles. The applicants I see coming through the platform are often fewer than the likes of LinkedIn but higher quality, which is a real time saver. Haystack also attracts those techies who are more passively looking and checking out the market in their own time without getting hounded, and so who otherwise wouldn’t have discovered Cronofy, that tempts them to make the move!
The results
Through Haystack we have interviewed lots of highly talented software developers, allowing us to make great connections and elevate our name within the tech community.
We have recently filled our Senior Engineering Manager position via Haystack - I hadn’t actually posted the role onto Haystack yet but Daniel joined our talent pool and looked like a great fit so we managed to fill the position swiftly and pain free.
Daniel has already made a great impact on the Engineering team!
We asked Daniel about his experience on Haystack:
Unlike other platforms, Haystack gives you the option to focus on the profile and attributes of the company you are looking at. I used Haystack to look for organisations that fit with my values and ways of working. The filters let you see all the companies that match your needs. Being able to see the profile of the tech leaders in the organisation is brilliant too - you can understand a lot more about the company before you join the talent pool. This notifies the company that you are interested in them, and shares your details - it is a much more direct and purposeful process than the traditional recruitment method. Once I got into the talent pool, Mark at Cronofy was great, and got in touch with me straight away. Because I was coming in as a "hot lead" from Haystack, he knew more about me, and knew I was ready and available for Cronofy!
